This is a great opportunity for an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join an impressive operation on the boarders of Folkestone close to the sea. This property boasts a full a’la carte restaurant, a separate Bistro Bar and a strong Weddings & Functions output & has a fantastic reputation for its modern cuisine and a strong local following as well as being a destination for serious food lovers.
The Kitchen Assistant plays an important and vital part on the success of our food service operation. The Kitchen Assistant will ensure that the chefs and food service teams have a steady supply of sparkling kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware to our very high standard as well as assistance in preparation of basic foods. The Kitchen Assistant must be able to work well with the kitchen teams as well as work unsupervised. The Kitchen Assistant needs to be prepared, think ahead, keeping one step ahead of the chefs and restaurant teams will ensure your success as a much valued Kitchen Assistant.

The Grand, Folkestone is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hard working Food & Beverage professional with 1 – 2 years experience in the industry for its various Food & Beverage Outlets, based predominantly in its Glass House restaurant.
Your responsibilities will be the offering of a superior level of customer service at all times, generating Sales and supporting the “Can-Do” attitude of The Grand. You will be driven, presentable and with an experienced skill base in either hotels or branded Food & Beverage operations.
You will report to the Food & Beverage Manager (Maitre d’) and The Grand Manager.
Salary – NMW In addition we offer full training to NVQ standard and the opportunity for progression.

Classically trained and very well presented, you will be expected to play background music within The Palm Court Restaurant, Keppels Bistro & during many different Weddings, Functions & Events that are held within the property.
